Good Friday Craft

 Hi Everyone!

Wow! It's Good Friday already! Here's a little craft for Easter! Happy Crafting!

You will need:

1. Nylon (super-thin) tights

2. Thread

3. Needle

4. Natural Dye (I would recommend the ökoNORM one)

5. Flowers & Leaves

6. Eggs

7. Scissors

Step No. 1

Take your flowers and leaves and press them against the egg. Then (this may require two people), take a tube of tights and quickly slip the it over the egg still holding the flower on.

Step No. 2

Thread your needle and wrap the thread around the two ends of the tube at the back. Do a couple of strong stitches then check it is secure! If it is, you've finished this step! If it isn't, a few more stitches should do the trick.

Step No. 3

On your stove, boil some water in a big pan, then tip in the dye according to the packet and colour you would like.

Step No. 4

Carefully place your eggs in the water and leave according to the time on your packet (the ökoNORM says 5-7 mins boiling time but if you would like a deeper colour you can always leave the eggs soaking over night).

Step No. 5

When the boiling time is up, take your eggs out and leave to cool and dry. Then carefully cut & peel off the tights. The flower or leaf will have prevented the egg from dying where it was placed and will have left an imprint of itself on the egg. Yay! You just made some beautiful easter-eggs!

Have a Sunny Day!

very pleased about the onion skins (right) this year...

The pinkish-red and orange ones are from the ökoNORM packets whereas we added onion skins to boiling water and they are the darker ones.

This was supposed to be yellow but we mixed in some orange dye and it turned out this lovely colour! Quite pleased really...
